2024 DAOK Gala: Youth Art Call!
Calling all youth! For the first time ever, we’re hosting an open call to submit artwork for our 2024 gala!
At every gala, we’ve featured powerful art created by DAOK leaders. In 2021, Evelin Alvarado created this stunning piece to illustrate the 2021 theme: A Beautiful Transformation. Surrounding the art are powerful reminders: Community is Power; We Protect Us. The art was featured on the official gala t-shirt and across our marketing materials.

DAOK’s Mission
The mission of DAOK is to address the inequities and obstacles faced by immigrant youth and advance the cause of justice for all immigrants through the empowerment of our entire community. As a community-based organization, we aim to support local immigrants through advocacy and education. We are the only queer immigrant youth-led organization doing this work in the state of Oklahoma. We believe that building cross-cultural collaborations and working alongside young members of our community will help in the continuation of our goals.
